Jim Crawford – Partner
Jim Crawford, Partner at Arkadia Capital, is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities in tactical national markets and helping lead the firm by developing and executing various strategies within Arkadia’s infrastructure and real assets platforms. Mr. Crawford has purchased and asset-managed properties and businesses across 20+ states; total transactions total $2 Billion.
Today, Mr. Crawford also serves as Chief Strategy Officer of Phoenix Rail, a short line railroad holding company, which Arkadia acquired in 2025 in a partnership with Ancala Partners.
Previously, Mr. Crawford served on the Board of Directors of Pioneer Lines, Inc., the fourth-largest short line railroad holding company in the United States at the time. He was instrumental in the company’s take-private transaction in 2019, led by Arkadia (formerly Brookhaven) and its partners, and played a leading role in the successful sale of Pioneer Lines in 2022 to another rail holding company backed by an institutional infrastructure investor.
Prior to his roles at Phoenix Rail and Pioneer Lines, Mr. Crawford was Vice President of Acquisitions at Broe Real Estate Group, where he was a member of the management team and investment committee. While at Broe, Mr. Crawford led the acquisition team to source and close multi-million-dollar commercial real estate investments (direct and joint-venture investments), and asset managed numerous properties leading disposition efforts, leasing, construction management projects, and financing.
Mr. Crawford holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Real Estate and Marketing, from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.
